The sax player keeps on the 70's crusade, with a pur mellow groovin jazz album, with covers of standards with a bluesy feeling. The Ed Boga arrangements and orchestrations plus the electric keyboards bring a great soulful touch and the Idris Muhammad drums playing makes it even funkier, specially on the version of Michael Jackson's "Ben" and Michael Legrand's "Lady Sings The Blues". It features other mumbers of the label's funky team of the time: Ernest Hayes (organ), Hank, Jones (electric piano), Ron Carter (bass & electric bass), Maynard Parker (guitar), Sonny Phillips (electric piano) and Billy Cobham (drums). |
Titles : 1 - Lady Sings The Blues 2 - God Bless The Child 3 - Strange Fruit 4 - Fine And Mellow 5 - Play Me 6 - Ben 7 - Tin Shack Out Back
